OFF THE WALL
Hello friends, I don’t know about you but I'm beginning to feel the chill of Winter creeping into the night, it can only mean one thing... it's time for the LISMORE LANTERN PARADE!
It's all happening on June 22 this year, well actually on 21st, 22nd and 23rd of June. We have a wonderful expanded program this year, a Gala Concert on Friday night, Festival and Parade on Saturday, and the VIKINGS are back in Jolly Fields on Saturday and on Sunday. Then the Piazza in the Park on Sunday before a delightful flotilla of lanterns on the river at dusk to acknowledge our beginnings on the river bank.
KIDSARTFEST – The wonderful Emma is inviting community groups and individuals to register for some creative activities for kids in the Quad during the day on 22 June. She is particularly seeking helpers/Volunteers to make art with kids making fishy wishes, chalking, river rocks. Also: SILVER PACKAGING PLEASE! If you use biscuit, chips, COFFEE BAGS (best): please keep bag whole, clean and put it aside for me! Message/contact Emma to arrange pick up/drop off. Emma 0411 967 690 emmajnewman25@gmail.com.
BUCKETEERS – We need you AGAIN! Did you join the awesome Brigade of Bucketeers collecting donations last year? This an ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL fundraiser for the lantern parade to continue. With the fun costumes again this year, collecting donations in the parade will be amazing! The Bucketeers did SO well last year.If you don’t feel like walking there are also opportunities for people to be Gate Keepers at the entrances to the Festival precinct! Come and join the Bucketeers Brigade by giving us a call or completing the Volunteer Form on this website.
COMMUNITY LANTERN PROJECT – We are ready to take bookings from Community Groups and Organisations to have one of our beautiful feature lanterns to carry in the parade, plus some pyramid lanterns to decorate. See How to be Involved on our website.
DRESS UP – it is our 25th Anniversary this year, so we have an amazing opportunity to dress up in LOTS OF SILVER! Or the other theme is “Rivers of Light”, expressing all the parades we have created across Australia in 25 years. Lots of lights, lots of silver and lots of fun!
